Privacy Policy
What personal information Stardustcasino collects, why we need it to run a lawful real-money casino in Alberta, who we share it with and how you can control it.
Last updated: 6 November 2026
01Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Stardustcasino handles personal information when you visit our website, open an account, verify your identity, deposit or withdraw funds and play casino games. It applies to every page of the site, to your account area at /account and to messages you send us through the contact form or by email.
Real-money online gambling is a regulated activity. To offer it in Alberta we are required to confirm that each player is at least 18 years old, is who they say they are, and is physically located in Alberta while playing. Much of the information described below is collected because those rules require it, not because we want it for marketing.
We handle personal information in line with Canadian privacy law, including the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies, Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). This policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions and our Cookie Policy.
02Data Controller
The organization responsible for your personal information (the "data controller", or the organization accountable for it under Canadian law) is the operator of Stardustcasino:
| Legal name | To be confirmed |
|---|---|
| Registration | To be confirmed |
| Registered address | To be confirmed |
| Privacy contact | privacy@tardustcasino.slonik.store |
Online gambling in Alberta is regulated by Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC). Our authorization information is: To be confirmed. Questions about how we handle your data go to our privacy contact above; questions about your account or payments go to support@tardustcasino.slonik.store.
03Personal Information Collected
We collect only the information we need to provide the service, meet our legal obligations and keep accounts safe. Some of it you give us directly, some is generated when you use the site, and some comes from verification and payment partners. The table below summarizes the main categories; each one is described in more detail in the sections that follow.
| What we collect | Why we need it | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Name, date of birth, email, residential address, password (stored only as a hash) | Create and run your account, confirm you are 18+, contact you about your account | Performance of our agreement with you; legal and regulatory obligations |
| Identity documents and verification results | Know-your-customer (KYC) checks, fraud prevention, anti-money-laundering (AML) duties | Legal and regulatory obligations |
| Device location from the geolocation check | Confirm you are physically in Alberta before and during real-money play | Legal and regulatory obligations; your consent to the device location check |
| Interac payment details, wallet balance, deposit and withdrawal records | Process payments in CAD, keep an accurate transaction history, detect fraud | Performance of our agreement; legal obligations |
| Game sessions, bets, results, limits and responsible gambling settings | Run the games, show your game history, apply limits and self-exclusion, meet regulatory reporting duties | Performance of our agreement; legal obligations |
| IP address, browser, device type, session cookie, security logs | Keep you signed in, protect forms and accounts, investigate misuse | Legitimate interest in a secure service; legal obligations |
| Support messages and contact form submissions | Answer your questions and keep a record of what was agreed | Performance of our agreement; legitimate interest |
| Marketing preferences | Send promotional messages only if you agreed to receive them | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a person under that age has opened an account, we close it and handle the data as required by law.
04Account Registration
When you register we ask for your name, email address, date of birth and a password. Your date of birth lets us confirm you meet the minimum age of 18 before you can deposit or play for real money. Your email address is used to sign in, to confirm important account events and to answer support requests.
Your password is never stored in readable form: we keep only a one-way hash, so our staff cannot see it. You can change it at any time from your account settings. Later, during verification, we also ask for your residential address and other details needed to confirm your identity.
Your profile, verification status (Unverified, Pending or Verified), wallet, transaction history, game history and responsible gambling tools are all visible to you in your account area. You can read how the account works step by step on the How It Works page.
05Identity Verification
Before real-money play and before any withdrawal, every player must complete identity verification, often called know-your-customer (KYC). It confirms that you are a real person, that you are at least 18, that the account is yours and that funds are not being moved on someone else's behalf. Regulated gambling operators in Canada must also meet anti-money-laundering and anti-terrorist-financing obligations, and verification is part of meeting them.
What we may ask for
- Your full legal name, date of birth and residential address, matched against the details on your account.
- A government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's licence or passport.
- Proof of address, for example a recent utility bill or bank statement, when the ID does not show your current address.
- In some cases, information about the source of funds used to play, if transaction patterns or legal rules require it.
How verification works
Your account status moves from Unverified to Pending while we review the information you submit, and to Verified once checks are complete. We may use a specialist identity verification provider to compare your details with reliable independent sources and to check that documents are genuine. That provider acts on our instructions and may only use your information to carry out the check.
Verification results, the documents you provide and a record of the checks carried out are kept as part of our compliance records. We do not use identity documents for marketing, and access to them is limited to staff who need it to review accounts, handle disputes or answer lawful requests from regulators and authorities.
If we cannot verify your identity, we may restrict deposits, play or withdrawals until the issue is resolved, as described in our Terms and Conditions. You can always ask us what information was used and correct anything that is wrong.
06Geolocation Data
Real-money games are available only to players who are physically located in Alberta at the time they play. Your home address is not enough, and neither is your IP address on its own: an IP address can point to the wrong place or be masked by a VPN or proxy. For that reason we run a device location check before you can open a real-money game, and we re-check it when needed, for example when a session continues for a long time or something suggests your location may have changed.
What the check collects
- The location reported by your device (through the browser's location permission), with an indication of its accuracy.
- Your IP address and network information, used to support the result and to detect VPNs, proxies or location spoofing.
- The time of the check and whether it passed or failed.
Your browser asks for your permission before sharing your location. If you decline, or the check cannot confirm that you are in Alberta, you can still browse the site, but real-money games stay locked. You can review the result of the most recent check in your account.
We use location data only to confirm eligibility, prevent fraud and meet regulatory obligations. We do not track your movements between checks, build a location history for marketing or sell location information. Records of checks are kept because regulators may ask us to show that each real-money session was played from within Alberta.
07Financial Information
Your wallet is held in Canadian dollars (CAD). Interac is the payment method we currently support for deposits and withdrawals. Any limits, fees and processing times that apply to a payment are shown in the cashier before you confirm it.
Payment information
When you pay with Interac, the payment is handled by Interac and your financial institution. We receive the information needed to match the payment to your account: the amount, currency, date and time, a payment reference and the status of the transaction. We do not receive or store your online banking password. Where the payment provider returns identifying details such as the account holder's name, we use them to check that the payment comes from you and not from a third party.
Transaction history
We keep a complete record of every deposit, withdrawal, bet, win and balance adjustment on your account. You can see your transaction history in the account area at any time. These records let you follow your own spending, allow us to resolve disputes accurately and are required for financial record-keeping, anti-money-laundering reporting and regulatory audits.
How we use it
- To process deposits and withdrawals and keep your balance accurate.
- To apply your deposit and loss limits and other responsible gambling controls.
- To detect and prevent fraud, chargebacks, account takeover and money laundering.
- To meet reporting obligations to regulators and, where the law requires it, to financial intelligence authorities.
We never use financial information to offer credit, and we do not sell it.
08Gaming Activity
When you play, our systems and the game studios whose games we offer (such as NetEnt, Pragmatic Play, Evolution and Play'n GO) record what happens in each session. This is needed to run the games fairly, settle every bet correctly and give you an accurate game history.
What is recorded
- Which games you opened, when sessions started and ended, and how long they lasted.
- Each bet, its amount, the result and the resulting balance.
- Your responsible gambling settings: deposit, loss and session limits, reality check intervals, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion, with the date of every change.
Why we use it
Gaming records are used to show you your own game history, to investigate any question you raise about a game result and to meet regulatory requirements for game integrity. We also review patterns of play to spot signs of possible gambling harm, for example a sharp rise in time or money spent, so that we can apply the limits you set and, where appropriate, reach out with information about responsible gambling tools and support such as GameSense Alberta (1-833-447-7523).
If you choose cooling-off or self-exclusion, we keep a record of it for its full period, and after it ends where the law requires, so that the restriction is respected and you are not sent promotions while it applies. A self-exclusion cannot be reversed early.
Gaming activity is also used to detect cheating, collusion, bonus abuse and the use of automated software. We do not share your individual gaming history with advertisers.
09Device Information
When you use the site, our servers automatically receive technical information from your browser: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, language settings, the pages you request and the time of each request. This information is used to deliver pages correctly on desktop and mobile, keep the service stable and protect accounts.
We keep security logs of sign-ins, password changes, verification steps and payment requests, including the IP address and device used. These logs help us detect unusual activity, such as sign-ins from an unexpected device, and to investigate fraud or account misuse when it happens.
10Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in, protect forms from cross-site request forgery and remember your age confirmation and cookie choices. Optional functional, analytics and marketing cookies are off until you agree to them, and your choices are saved for 180 days.
You can change your decision at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. The full list of cookies, what each one does and how long it lasts is in our Cookie Policy.
11Analytics
Analytics helps us understand which pages are useful, where visitors run into problems and how the site performs on different devices. Analytics tools are used only if you allow analytics cookies in your cookie settings; if you do not, no analytics cookies are set.
Where we use analytics, we look at aggregated information, such as page views, approximate region and device type, rather than at individual players. Analytics data is not used to make decisions about your account, your eligibility or your access to games. Any analytics provider we add will be named in our Cookie Policy.
12Marketing
We send promotional emails or other marketing messages only if you have agreed to receive them, in line with Canada's anti-spam legislation (CASL). Every marketing message includes a simple way to unsubscribe, and you can also withdraw consent by writing to privacy@tardustcasino.slonik.store.
Messages about your account, such as verification updates, payment confirmations, security alerts and changes to our terms, are not marketing and are sent regardless of your marketing choice.
We do not send marketing to anyone who has an active cooling-off period or self-exclusion, and we do not target promotions at people we have reason to think may be experiencing gambling harm. Marketing cookies on the website are used only with your consent.
13Third-Party Services
We rely on carefully selected service providers to run the casino. They process personal information only on our instructions, for the purpose we give them, and under contracts that require them to protect it to a standard comparable to ours.
- Game studios and platform providers who supply and run the games and receive the session data needed to settle bets.
- Identity verification providers who help us check identity documents and personal details.
- Geolocation providers who help confirm that a device is physically in Alberta.
- Payment providers, including Interac and the financial institutions involved in each payment.
- Hosting, email and IT security providers who keep the website, databases and communications running.
Some of these services have their own privacy policies for information they collect directly from you, for example your bank when you approve an Interac payment. We encourage you to read them.
14Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only where it is necessary and permitted by law:
- With the service providers described above, to deliver the service.
- With Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) and other regulators, when required for licensing, audits, complaints or compliance reviews.
- With law enforcement, courts or financial intelligence authorities, where we are legally required to report or disclose information, including under anti-money-laundering rules.
- With professional advisers such as auditors and lawyers, under a duty of confidentiality.
- With a successor organization if the business is reorganized or sold, in which case your information remains protected by this policy or one at least as protective.
We share only what each recipient needs for its purpose, and we keep a record of disclosures made to authorities where the law allows.
15International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers, such as hosting, verification or game platform providers, may store or process information outside Alberta or outside Canada. When that happens, the information is subject to the laws of the country where it is held and may be accessible to authorities there under those laws.
Before using a provider outside Canada, we assess its security and privacy practices and require it by contract to protect your information to a standard comparable to Canadian law. You can ask us for more information about where your data is processed by writing to privacy@tardustcasino.slonik.store.
16Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires us to keep it. Because we operate in a regulated industry, many records, including identity verification results, transaction history, gaming records and responsible gambling settings, must be kept for a set period after your account is closed to meet legal, regulatory and anti-money-laundering record-keeping obligations.
The exact retention period for each category of record depends on the rule that applies to it. We will tell you the period that applies to your information on request; write to privacy@tardustcasino.slonik.store.
When a retention period ends, we securely delete the information or anonymize it so that it can no longer be linked to you.
17User Rights
Under Canadian privacy law you have meaningful control over your personal information. You can:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and learn how it has been used and to whom it has been disclosed.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete. Many details can be updated directly in your account.
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it, for example for marketing or optional cookies, subject to legal or contractual restrictions.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need, unless we are required to keep it under the retention rules described above.
- Make a complaint to us, and if you are not satisfied with our answer, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, as applicable.
To make a request, write to privacy@tardustcasino.slonik.store or use the contact form. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, so that we do not disclose information to the wrong person. We respond within the time allowed by applicable law.
18Data Security
We protect personal information with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all pages, passwords stored only as one-way hashes, session cookies protected against script access, CSRF tokens on forms, and access controls that limit sensitive data such as identity documents to staff who need it.
No system is completely secure, so you play a part too: use a strong password that you do not use elsewhere, sign out on shared devices and never share your login details. If you think someone has accessed your account, change your password and contact support@tardustcasino.slonik.store straight away. If a breach of security creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

20Policy Updates
We may update this policy when our services, our providers or the law change. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. If a change significantly affects how we use your personal information, we will tell you in advance by email or with a notice in your account, and ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
We encourage you to check this page from time to time. Continuing to use the site after an update takes effect means the updated policy applies to your information from that date.
