Getting started

How Online Casino Gaming Works

Ten steps from opening an account to requesting a withdrawal, including identity verification and the Alberta location check that real-money play requires.

  1. Step 1 — Create an Account

Open the registration form and enter your email address, a password and your personal details: full name, date of birth, home address and phone number. Use your real, current information, because it has to match the identity document you provide in the next step.

You must be 18 or older to register, and each person may hold only one account. Before you finish, read and accept our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

  2. Step 2 — Verify Your Identity

Identity verification (often called KYC, "know your customer") confirms your name, age and address. In the Verification section of My Account, choose a document type (driver's licence, passport or government-issued ID card) and upload a clear photo or scan in JPG, PNG or PDF format, up to 5 MB.

Your status moves from Unverified to Pending while the document is reviewed, and to Verified only after a successful check. Deposits, withdrawals and real-money games stay closed until then.

  3. Step 3 — Confirm Your Location

You must be physically located in Alberta to access real-money casino games. Residence alone is not enough: what counts is where your device is at the moment you play.

The location check uses your device's geolocation, which you allow in your browser when asked. An IP address is never treated as sufficient proof on its own. The check runs before game access and may run again during your session, for example if you change networks or travel.

If the check cannot confirm your location, real-money games stay unavailable until it succeeds. You can still log in and manage your account from anywhere.

  4. Step 4 — Choose a Payment Method

All balances are kept in Canadian dollars (CAD). Interac is the payment method available for both deposits and withdrawals, so you can move money directly from your Canadian bank account.

Minimum and maximum amounts, any fees and processing times are shown in the cashier before you confirm a transaction. Additional payment methods will only be listed once they are confirmed and integrated.

  5. Step 5 — Make a Deposit

Once your identity is verified and your location is confirmed, open the Deposit section of My Account, enter the amount in CAD and confirm with Interac. Review the amount and terms shown in the cashier before you approve the payment.

Every deposit, including declined attempts, is recorded in your transaction history. Before your first deposit, we recommend setting a deposit limit so that your spending stays within a budget you have chosen in advance.

  6. Step 6 — Explore Casino Games

The casino lobby lists 445 games from 77 studios, including NetEnt, Pragmatic Play, Evolution, Play'n GO, Red Tiger, Relax Gaming and Playtech. Filter by category (slots, live casino, table games) or by studio, or search by name.

Each game has a details panel with its category and studio. Rules and paytables are available inside the game itself, and it is worth reading them before you place your first bet.

  7. Step 7 — Play Live Casino Games

Live dealer games stream real tables from professional studios in real time. You place bets on screen while a dealer deals the cards or spins the wheel, and the result is shown live on the stream.

The live casino covers blackjack, roulette, baccarat, poker and game shows. Table limits and rules are shown in each game before you join, and a stable internet connection gives the smoothest stream.

  8. Step 8 — Manage Your Account

My Account brings everything together: your profile, verification status, wallet balance, deposits and withdrawals, transaction history and game history. You can update your phone number and address yourself; identity fields such as your name and date of birth are locked after registration.

In the Security section you can change your password at any time. If you need help with anything in your account, the support form is available at Contact Us.

  9. Step 9 — Set Personal Limits

In the Responsible Gambling section of My Account you can set deposit, loss and session limits and choose a reality-check reminder every 15, 30 or 60 minutes. Lowering a limit takes effect immediately; raising or removing one waits 24 hours.

You can also take a cooling-off break of 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days, or self-exclude for 6 months, 1 year or 5 years. Self-exclusion cannot be reversed early. For confidential support, call GameSense Alberta at 1-833-447-7523 or read our Responsible Gambling page.

  10. Step 10 — Request a Withdrawal

To withdraw, open the Withdrawal section of My Account, enter the amount in CAD and confirm. Withdrawals are paid by Interac and require a verified identity, which protects your money from being sent to anyone else.

The cashier shows any limits, fees and the expected processing time before you confirm. Each request and its status appear in your transaction history, and support can help through the contact form if anything looks wrong.
